Alan R. Crane, a partner in the firm, focuses his practice on bankruptcy, family law and commercial litigation. He joined the firm in 2007 after several years in private practice.
Mr. Crane has represented debtors, creditors and trustees in chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. Currently, he is representing the bankruptcy trustee in a case involving one of the state’s major steakhouse chains. He also has represented the bankruptcy trustee in a case involving a now-defunct cruise line. In his representation of debtors in bankruptcy proceedings, Mr. Crane approaches each case from the standpoint of the trustee’s counsel, focused on obtaining a discharge of debts.
In the family law arena, Mr. Crane’s experience includes divorce, child custody, visitation and child advocacy. He is well-versed in the interplay between bankruptcy and family law, and has served as a resource for local media on both divorce and bankruptcy topics.
In addition, Mr. Crane specializes in litigation and real estate law. He has represented a major title insurance company in various matters throughout the Southern District of Florida .
Committed to pro bono work and community involvement, Mr. Crane was the recipient of the Pro Bono Award for Child Advocacy from the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. He is an emeritus member of the American Inns of Court LIV, a professional association designed to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar.
