Florida divorce: Costly, lengthy, semi-easy and popular

There are a lot of things that people around the country can say about getting divorced. It is a rough process. It takes a lot of energy. It is great when the ink is dry on the final divorce decree. One thing that people in every state can say is that their divorce was among the most expensive to file. Only people who file for divorce in Florida can claim to have the most expensive divorce filing fees.
According to FindTheBest database, it costs $409 to file for divorce in Florida. For some people, that can be a deal breaker for legally dissolving the marriage.
The same website says that the minimum amount of time for a couple to get a divorce in Florida is 200 days. Some people might find that to be a hindrance as well. Additionally, one of the people getting the divorce has to have lived in the state for at least six months prior to divorcing.
On the positive side, Florida ranks around the middle for the difficulty of divorce. Out of 100, Florida got a 60 for the difficulty of the process.
It doesn’t seem like people are too put off by the state coming in with the most expensive divorce filing fee or the lengthy wait. Bloomberg reports that Florida comes in seventh in the country for the divorce rate.
When it comes down to it, people who want to divorce because a marriage can’t be fixed will find a way to get it done.
